Short but awesome. Today Jason and I went into Newport after having driven down here last night. It is my birthday present to Jason - a weekend at the coast at the Inn at Otter Crest. We had a great dinner last night at Tidal Raves in
Depoe Bay. This morning we did some wind sprints on the beach and then spent some time in the hot tub for our muscles. We had the pool/hot tub to ourselves. Then we headed into Newport for some breakfast and to walk around. It was a little cold still but sunny which made everything great. We looked at the sea lions, walked through galleries, and ate delicious caramel corn. Then tonight we went to dinner at
Kyllo's in Lincoln City. We timed it perfectly and got a window seat and watched the sun set as we finished up our dinner. The people sitting at the tables around us were really fun to watch. We had a mixed race couple, a lesbian couple, two older couples on a double date with their big hair, jewelry, and matching track suits, and a younger alternative lifestyle couple with their black clothes, tattoos, face piercings and 3-year old daughter. Not to mention the girls' night out party and all the prom kids. It was really neat to have such diverse eating companions. A great day.
I am thankful for our day at Newport.
